Scrip

St. Lucy School Scrip Program:

WHAT IS SCRIP?

Scrip is a national fundraising program that helps merchants drive in business as well as give to worthy causes such as education. We depend on $45,000 profit from t he scrip program to help pay for school operating expenses keep our tuition at one of the lowest in the diocese. But don’t panic, we do our best to ensure that this can be very manageable for our families, and Scrip is NOT intended to be an additional financial burden. At St. Lucy School, there are two parts to our scrip program:

The first is a gift card program. Merchants allow our school to buy gift cards at a reduced rate, and we sell them to you at face value. The profit stays with the school and you have not spent any extra money.

The second part of our scrip program is referred to as electronic scrip. After you register your grocery club cards and credit cards under St. Lucy School, then whenever you purchase items using those cards the merchant will send St. Lucy School a portion of your purchase.

YOUR ANNUAL FAMILY SPENDING REQUIREMENT

All St. Lucy School families are required to participate in or buy out of the Scrip program as specified on your tuition contract.
$3500 per year (May 1 st to April 30th) for two parent families
$1000 of the $3500 requirement must come from actual gift card purchases
$2500 may come from electronic scrip and excess gift cards
$1750 per year (May 1 st to April 30th) for single parent families
$500 of the $1750 requirement must come from actual gift card purchases
$1250 may come from electronic scrip and/or actual gift cards

There is an optional buy-out fee of $350 per year. If you do not buy out and do not meet your Scrip Program requirement, a 15% fee will be assessed on the remaining gift card portion of your requirement, and a 10% fee will be assessed on the other part of your requirement at the end of the year.

NOTE: You can "double dip" at Safeway by first purchasing scrip gift cards from St. Lucy School. Then, swipe your registered Safeway Club Card at checkout (while paying with the scrip card you received from St. Lucy's.) You earn credit for the scrip gift card purchase plus the electronic scrip credit on your Club Card.

FRIENDS AND FAMILY CAN HELP TOO! Ask your friends and family to participate in the Scrip program in the name of St. Lucy School. Please return the Friend and Family form to let our scrip team know to record their spending under your family requirement.

How to get started:

SCRIP GIFT CARD PROCESS Enroll with Presto Pay Now!

Since the gift cards tend to result in higher percentages back to the school, we do require some gift card purchasing. Our new online gift card order system at www.shopwithscrip.com offers something for everyone. Our school purchases the gift cards that you order at a reduced rate, which you then purchase at full face value. That difference (which is covered by the merchants, not our parents) makes up our profit. Merchants like this because by offering their gift cards they are driving in business.

ELECTRONIC SCRIP PROCESS

Whenever you use these registered cards at a participating merchant it automatically earns money for our school in your name. You don’t even have to think about it! If you are curious about which merchants will direct funds to our school when you swipe your card at checkout, go to www.escrip.com. The percentage of your sale that will be directed to SLS is also listed.

  1. Go to www.eScrip.com. Register your credit/debit cards and grocery Club Cards (i.e. Safeway) and be sure to identify St. Lucy School as the school you wish to support. Our group ID # is: 137612278. Then, each time you shop at Safeway and use your club card, the amount you spend on groceries is added to meet your requirement (i.e. $200 spent = $200 toward your requirement). Safeway then donates a percentage of what you spend to St. Lucy School at no cost to you. The same applies to any registered credit/debit cards used at specific eScrip retailers. Visit www.eScrip.com for a complete list of specific retailers. Note: There is a 3 - 4 month processing delay, so register now. NOTE: Families can check their spending at escrip.com at any time. Please remember that the SLS commitment "year" is different from the escrip "year" when looking at Year To Date numbers.
  2. Ask your friends and family to register their Safeway card and credit/debit card son www.eScrip.com and identify St. Lucy’s (ID #: 137612278) as the school they are supporting. You will receive credit for their purchases, too. Please complete our friends and family form and return it to the front office so their spending can be added to your requirement total.
  3. Register your Target Red Card: St. Lucy School automatically receives a portion of your purchase when you use a Target Red Card registered under St. Lucy School Request a credit/check Red card at Target or online. Then visit the “Red Card” button at www.Target.com and identify St. Lucy School (ID #: 18126) as the school you are supporting. Report your purchase to our Scrip team by going to the SchoolSpeak scrip homepage and entering your purchase amount. Encourage friends and family to do the same.
  4. Request a Lucky & Nob Hill Card: Do you shop at Lucky’s or Nob Hill? If you do, you can request a club card from our Scrip team by emailing Leslie Matteoni (lmatteoni@earthlink.net) and St. Lucy School will automatically receive fundraising dollars from Lucky’s and Nob Hill every time you use your St. Lucy issued club card while shopping there. NOTE: You must track your own spending for Lucky via the link on the bottom of this page.
  5. Online Shopping: Start your online shopping at www.eScrip.com. Instead of going the Amazon.com, Shutterfly.com, etc directly, start first at the online shopping “mall” at www.eScrip.com. You will then be automatically directed to the website of your choice (i.e. Amazon.com). Shop with a registered credit or debit card to earn additional dollars for St. Lucy’s.
  6. Questions? Email our electronic scrip coordinator, Leslie Matteoni, at lmatteoni@earthlinnk.net
